CALGARY -- Police are investigating the suspicious death of a newborn baby boy.

The baby's father returned home Sunday to find the body in a garbage bag and called 911, said Doug Odney, spokesman for Emergency Medical Services.

The mother apparently went to the bingo hall where she works within half an hour of giving birth to the full-term infant, Mr. Odney said. She is reportedly undergoing psychiatric treatment. No arrests have been made.

The medical examiner has yet to determine a cause of death and is performing further tests, police said. CP
