SASKATOON -- A 12-year-old girl has been charged with cruelty to animals after five cats were killed and mutilated.

Shannon Pomeroy, executive director of the Saskatoon SPCA, said pet owners should be careful about letting their animals run free, even though charges have been laid.

"What people don't understand is that we're dealing with this on an almost daily basis," she said. "This isn't an isolated incident." CP
