Two Cape Breton sisters will spend two years under house arrest for setting a man on fire. Jail time was ruled out in favour of a conditional sentence for Carol Beth MacNeil, 35, and her sister Cheryl MacNeil, 36, both of Reserve Mines, N.S. Court was told the women doused Terrance Fiore, 46, with gasoline last May after alleging he was a drug dealer and a sexual abuser. The Cape Breton sisters were originally charged with attempted murder but pleaded guilty to a lesser count of criminal negligence. The sisters also received one year's probation and a 10-year weapons ban. CP
