SIMCOE, Ont - A 21-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to drowning her newborn child. Two years ago, Kristy Wood wrapped her infant in newspaper, placed it in a plastic bag, and dumped it in her grandparents' yard. Originally charged with second-degree murder, Wood now faces up to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to infanticide and disposing of a dead body.
