Yahoo NewsTIRANA (Reuters) - In Albania, where men pride themselves on their Balkan machismo, an unemployed man has filed for divorce because his wife regularly beat him up for not doing the dishes, a newspaper said Wednesday.
The physical assaults from his wife -- 12 years his senior -- became more frequent after the 32-year-old lost his job at the local steelworks, the daily Koha Jone said.
``I have been living with a crazy woman for eight years and she has taken away my manliness from me,'' the bullied husband told the court in the industrial city of Elbasan.
``She has ruined my life. She beat me continually, and not only with fists,'' he added.
