TOT BAKED TO DEATH IN CAR

A MUM left her baby to bake to death in a car while she sunbathed during a heatwave, a court heard yesterday.

Marie Trueman, 32, left three-month-old daughter Courtney while she relaxed in the garden.

Her husband Andrew got home to find Courtney gasping for breath.

The temperature inside the car was more than 100°F, Manchester Crown Court heard.

Courtney died in hospital an hour later.

Mum-of-three Trueman, of Dukinfield, Manchester, has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of gross negligence and cruelty.

The trial continues.
