National Post

FREDERICTON - A homeless woman received an eight-month jail sentence for setting fire to another homeless woman in an argument over a blanket. Donna Blais, 32, pleaded guilty to unlawfully causing bodily harm. Blais and the victim were spending the night of Nov. 30 outside the Fredericton Emergency Shelter when the incident occurred. The pair was refused admission because they arrived after hours and had been drinking. The victim spent several days in hospital with first- and second-degree burns to her legs.
