Detectives eager to question father

By PETER SMITH -- Calgary Sun

Homicide detectives hope the father of Rie Fujii's two dead children can help shed light on the background to the tragedy.

Yesterday they appealed for anyone who can help locate Peter John Brown, 22, to contact them.

Brown has been in seclusion since the discovery of the body of his 15-month-old son, Domenic, on Tuesday, and since he learned police are seeking the body of his baby daughter Gemini in the Bow River.

Brown and Fujii broke off their relationship several months ago, and police stressed they only wish to talk to him to establish background details of the family's situation.

Brown is also wanted on outstanding warrants for property thefts and other Criminal Code offences.

In the past 48 hours, Brown has spoken briefly with the Calgary Sun by telephone. Brown, who was clearly emotionally upset, spoke of his love for his children and their mother.

"I loved my children very much: I haven't seen them in months," he said. "I still love Rie."

Brown is described as having pale skin, red hair, hazel eyes and a tattoo of a clover leaf on his left shoulder.
