Jeffery James Unruh will remain in jail for at least another four days.

The 42-year-old has been in custody at the Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre since Aug. 1 for contempt of court.

Unruh owes more than $150,000 to his ex-wife in child-support payments, but is refusing to pay because the order goes against his Christian beliefs.

"I'm committed to God's standard," he told the court Monday during his forth appearance.

"I've been committed to that since I was a child and I'll be committed to that for the rest of my life."

Unruh will next appear in court on Sept.4, where he will again be asked whether he is prepared to abide by the court order.
