Warkworth, Ont. -- Thank you for Kirk Makin's article on Rowland Mak's recovered-memory experience (Man Recants Repressed 'Memories' -- Nov. 3). It has taken so many years for the general public to become aware of the disastrous recovered-memory fad. Thousands of young people have been completely separated from their families and former friends. Thousands of children have grown up in isolation, having no contact with other family members.
Unfortunately, there are still those who believe that people in therapy have to uncover memories of childhood abuse. Mr. Mak has struck a blow for thousands of families and their lost young people.
