Rudy's angry wife wants $1M a yearBy AP
NEW YORK -- The estranged wife of former New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani wants $1 million a year tax-free to support herself and her two children, Giuliani's lawyer says.
That's $950,000 more than Giuliani is willing to pay.
Giuliani, 57, now pays a court-ordered $1,800 a month and half of all living expenses for television journalist Donna Hanover and the kids. He has offered to double that amount, lawyer Raoul Felder said Tuesday.
Hanover's lawyer, Helene Brezinsky, told state Supreme Court Justice Judith Gische that Giuliani earns $1 million a month.
"The money is pouring in," Brezinsky said.
Giuliani, who was lauded for his handling of the city following the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, is a highly paid speaker and runs his own business consulting firm, Giuliani Partners.
Hanover, 52, and Giuliani have two children: Andrew, 16, and Caroline, 12. Giuliani filed for divorce in October 2000.
