Celeb publicist in jail

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. -- Entertainment publicist Lizzie Grubman, whose clients have included Britney Spears and Jay-Z, swapped her Manhattan home for a Long Island jail cell yesterday.

A teary Grubman, apologizing to her victims, surrendered to serve a 60-day sentence for a car crash that injured 16 people outside a Hamptons bar.

"I'm haunted by it daily," she said before sentencing.

Witnesses said Grubman, 31, had become upset when a bouncer asked her to move her Mercedes SUV from a fire lane. She then backed into a crowd.

Grubman pleaded guilty to a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident and a misdemeanour assault charge under a plea agreement.
