The Globe and MailA former Toronto policeman has been found emaciated in a locked basement room where police say he had to relieve himself in a steel bucket and take meals that were slipped through a slot in the door.
Steve Peacock, a 76-year-old with Alzheimer's disease, weighed just 85 pounds when police rescued him Thursday from a padlocked room in a house in the small Ontario town of Georgina, about 80 kilometres north of Toronto.
