Fathers demand "equal rights"This is London
17 December 2002
A group of 100 men dressed in Father Christmas costumes staged a sit-down protest in a Government office to demand equal rights for fathers.
The men were among 200 fathers who arrived on two double-decker sightseeing buses at the children's branch of the Lord Chancellor's Department in Victoria Street.
Matthew O'Connor, 35, of the campaign group Fathers 4 Justice, said family law was "scrooge law" because fathers going through divorce or separation were not treated equally in court proceedings.
