Murder charges filed on woman who buried husband

A woman charged with stabbing her husband to death and burying his body in the back yard of their northwest Harris County home turned herself in today.
Susan Lucille Wright, 26, said nothing publicly as she surrendered around 9 a.m., accompanied by her mother and attorney. She was ordered held without bond on a murder charge.
Wright is accused of repeatedly stabbing her husband of four years, 34-year-old Jeffrey Wright, whose body was found in a shallow grave behind the couple's home in the 10800 block of Berry Tree Drive on Saturday night.
An autopsy found Wright had been stabbed at least 193 times, including in the face, eyes, neck and groin, said Harris County Sheriff's Sgt. T.E. Kiser. Investigators said Wright had been tied to his bed when killed.
Neal Davis, Susan Wright's attorney, said his client had suffered years of abuse from her husband, a claim the man's family has denied.
A family member told authorities that Susan Wright claimed her children, ages 4 and 1, were in their beds when their father was killed, but investigators have been unable to verify that, Kiser said. The children are now staying with Susan Wright's sister, a child psychologist.
