Wright Susan Wright.
A woman accused of stabbing of her husband nearly 200 times and stashing his body in their back yard turned herself in Friday.

Susan Lucille Wright, 26, made no comment as she surrendered about 9 a.m., accompanied by her mother and attorney. She was ordered held without bail.

Wright's lawyer, Neal Davis, has said she admitted killing her husband in self-defense and has been in a mental hospital since his death. The attorney said her husband abused her for years, but his family denied that.

The body of Jeffrey Wright, 34, was found Jan. 18 behind their home in the 10800 block of Berry Tree. Investigators said Wright was tied to the bed inside the house when killed. He had 193 stab wounds and cuts, including to his face, eyes and neck, and seven wounds to the groin, said sheriff's Sgt. T.E. Kiser.

Murder charges were filed Thursday against Susan Wright.

Detectives said she filed a family violence report against her husband Jan. 15 - two days after they believe he was killed.
