Minto -- Parents of an elementary-school student have filed a complaint with the RCMP over alleged abuse by their son's teacher.

The couple also wants school and district officials to investigate the conduct of the female teacher, who cannot be identified. The parents, who also cannot be identified, allege the teacher kicked their nine-year-old son's desk chair out from under him, causing a back injury for which he is now under medical care. No charges have been laid.

The couple says other parents from this small coal-mining town near Fredericton have made similar complaints. CP
