Lies, damned lies and the Scottish executive’s statistics
Sunday, March 31, 2002, Gillian Bowditch, The Sunday Times
Congratulations to our friends in Scotland, and kudos to the Advertising Standards Authority for holding the Scottish Executive accountable for the false and misleading stats that they published on family violence. The stats used are similar to what our government attempts to mislead with, but in Scotland, it appears, false ads from the government are unacceptable.

Family Law Thuggery
Saturday, March 30, 2002, Christie Blatchford, National Post
A summary of the inadequacy of the courts in dealing with child support and rewarding greed. These judges seem to want to look ridiculous. We would note however that this case is notable in the amounts involved -- but the same problems with unreasonable amounts and ridiculous applications holds at all income levels. You can see the judgment of the Ontario Court of Appeal in HTML format at http://www.ontariocourts.on.ca/decisions/2002/march/rC34821.htm, or get a copy in PDF format at http://www.ontariocourts.on.ca/decisions/2002/march/rC34821.pdf.

Children's Aid Society censured for putting a child in limbo
Wednesday, March 20, 2002, Dave Brown, The Ottawa Citizen
The Ottawa CAS, like many Ontario CAS's, defy the law and the interests of children in following their philosophy that no father should ever be with a child. Here is a loving, hard-working, too patient dad who just wants his child -- and the CAS would prefer to defy the courts and scramble the child.

Johnsons win custody; Vietri gets visitation
Tuesday, March 12, 2002, Stephanie Taylor, Tuscaloosa News
A terrible case from the States. Fraud against a dad who wanted his child and fought for him. The results of this travesty? He gets to be dad. He does not get his child. Dad gets 4 supervised visits a year, and gets to pay strangers child support. Is it any wonder people look at judges and lawyers in absolute disgust?

Kerkorian's former wife faked DNA paternity test
Tuesday, March 26, 2002, Araminta Wordsworth, National Post
Not the dad, still pay and pay. Support is not from the father to the child, it is from the courts to women -- and children are simply weapons. Rich or poor, the farce and the fraud is still the same.
